Moissanite Colors
Share
Moissanite is graded for color on a letter scale similar to diamonds. The goal for most buyers is a stone that looks colorless or nearly so.

Color ranges
- Colorless (D to F): bright white. Best for white gold and platinum settings.
- Near colorless (G to I): a very faint warmth that is usually not visible face up, especially in yellow or rose gold.
- Faint tint: older or lower grade stones can show a light green or yellow cast in some lighting.

Matching to metal
White metals can make a slightly warm stone look warmer by contrast. Yellow and rose gold hide faint warmth well.
Tip
Look at the stone in daylight and indoor light. Moissanite shows color most in warm, directional light, so check it in both.
